Our Counsellors
Our counsellors come from all walks of life and have developed their own areas of specialism and ways of working with clients. We always look to allocate the right counsellor for your particular needs.
We have Twelve counsellors who provide individual counselling, and four counsellors who provide couples counselling; all are professionally trained for the work they do and adhere to the Ethical Framework of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, of which Cornerstone is a member.
Will my counsellor be fully qualified?
We do offer placements to some counsellors in the final stages of their professional training. All counsellors receive regular clinical supervision and are accountable to Cornerstone for the work they do. Everybody holds a current DBS.
Can I change counsellor?
Following your initial assessment session, you will be matched to the counsellor we feel best fits with your needs, counselling goals and availability. However, if you do not feel suited to them, you are welcome to meet with a different counsellor. There is no obligation to finish the block of sessions offered to you, if you are not happy.
Could I have counselling with 2 different counsellors at the same time?
We don’t recommend having two counsellors at the same time. An exception to this might be having individual counselling with one counsellor at the same time as couples counselling with another.
