Cornerstone Counselling, Yateley

HELP US KEEP OUR TECHNOLOGY SIMPLE, SECURE AND WORKING WELL

Purpose of the Role

We’re looking for a practical and approachable Volunteer IT Manager to help us look after the small number of technology systems that support our charity.

This isn’t a large or demanding IT environment. We need someone who can keep an eye on our systems, help us make sensible technology decisions, and make sure things remain secure, reliable and fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee our website hosting and help us review or change our current hosting arrangements.
  • Manage our Microsoft 365 environment and user accounts.
  • Manage email accounts for trustees and staff, including setting up and removing users when required.
  • Maintain appropriate access and administration across our social media accounts.
  • Work alongside our Volunteer Social Media Manager, who will manage the day-to-day content.
  • Help us review and introduce an appropriate case management/CRM system.
  • Keep an eye on cyber security, backups, passwords and access.
  • Help ensure our technology and systems support good GDPR and data protection practices.
  • Provide occasional practical IT advice and support when needed.

Who you are

You don’t need to know everything. We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has good general IT knowledge and experience
  • Is comfortable with Microsoft 365 and managing user accounts
  • Understands websites, hosting and domains
  • Has a practical understanding of cyber security and data protection
  • Can help us assess technology and suppliers without overcomplicating things
  • Is organised, trustworthy and comfortable working independently
  • Would like to use their skills to support a small local charity

Please note – Experience of charities, CRM or case management systems would be helpful, but isn’t essential.

Time Commitment

  • A small and flexible volunteer commitment.
  • Mainly remote – although we do want someone from the local area of Yateley or surround towns and villages.
  • More time may occasionally be needed when we are making changes, such as adding new staff/trustees, updating the website hosting or introducing a new system.

Why This Role Matters

Technology may sit behind the scenes, but it helps Cornerstone operate safely and effectively.

By helping us look after our website, Microsoft 365, email, social media access and other systems, you’ll help ensure that our technology remains secure, reliable and manageable.

You’ll also help us make sensible decisions about future technology, including our case management system, so our team can concentrate on what matters most: supporting people in our community.
